📅 This week, we delivered a #training on return #counselling in 🇸🇪 Sweden. In collaboration with the Swedish Migration Agency, 10 dedicated professionals from across Sweden participated in an advanced and specialised training focusing on motivational interviewing, #trauma-informed counselling, working with resistance and difficult cases, and counselling #migrants with #mentalhealth challenges. 🤝 Thank you to SMA for a very warm welcome and great #cooperation in preparing the training! ✈️ Earlier in May, we carried out an operational #mission to Islamabad (Pakistan) to support the launch of the RRF referral pilot within the Migrant Resource Centre Pakistan — a flagship initiative under ICMPD Silk Routes. 💬 The mission was a great opportunity to engage with MRC #counsellors, offering first-hand #insights into their daily #counselling work and operational realities on the ground. 🤝 We also met with state authorities and #reintegration partners, including WELDO, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Oversees Pakistani Foundation (OPF), and ICMPD’s local team, opening doors for future cooperation. ✅ The mission provided valuable insights that we hope will further strengthen collaboration among key actors and contribute meaningfully to the #sustainable #reintegration of returnees. 🤝 This week, return counsellors from Ireland’s Department of Justice visited Copenhagen to exchange with their Danish counterparts on #return and #reintegration systems. 💬 Discussions focused on #cooperation with NGOs, trust-building, and effective #outreach and #communication strategies. 📄 As part of the RRF Action Plan on Support to Ireland 2025 – 2026, the delegation visited the Danish Return Agency, Avnstrup Open Return Centre, the Danish Red Cross, and the Danish Refugee Council / Dansk Flygtningehjælp. 📢 In the framework of the Reintegration Amplification (RAMP) project, we organised two-day training for #reintegration actors respectively in Dakar and Abidjan, in collaboration with OFII SENEGAL 🇸🇳 and OFII Côte d'Ivoire 🇨🇮. 👥 In Senegal, the training brought together counsellors from IOM and the Bureaux d’accueil, d’orientation et de suivi (BAOS). In Côte d’Ivoire, participants included counsellors from IOM, the DIRECTION GÉNÉRALE DES IVOIRIENS DE L'EXTÉRIEUR ( DGIE), and AVSI Foundation.   🧰 The training equipped reintegration actors in both countries with practical tools to support vulnerable #returnees facing #psychosocial challenges. Strengthening the capacity of reintegration operators to better assist returnees with psychosocial difficulties is a core objective of the RAMP project. 📅 On 24 April, Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) hosted a dynamic half-day workshop in Brussels, in collaboration with the RRF, with support of Bruss'Help and Fedasil. This event brought together 27 dedicated professionals from civil society, local and federal administration, representing 15 organisations.   The workshop presented MMC’s interactive data dashboard on irregular migrants, developed through the Reaching Undocumented Migrants project. As part of RRF's new Support of Frontline Workers project, it introduced participants to using the dashboard for evidence-based #casemanagement. Brussels' frontline workers and programme managers discussed challenges like #housing, #healthcare, and information access, identifying support gaps and promising #practices.   Key takeaways: ✔️ Data reflected frontline realities and the need to share insights at federal and EU levels. 🇪🇺 ✔️ Better #coordination is needed for frontline workers’ access to information. ✔️ Harm reduction should be part of case management and return #counselling. ✔️ Multi-level collaboration is key — from #community strategies to federal support. #rrf #icmpd #return #reintegration #rum #workshop #interactive #stakeholders
