RIAT Development Meeting: Highlights
On 7–8 June, the Return and Reintegration Facility held the RIAT Development Meeting, bringing together representatives from the European Commission, Frontex, and EU Member State Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
Several key topics were discussed during the meeting, including new proposals and developments, to give Member States the opportunity to actively contribute to the shaping of RIAT:
- Presentation of what RIAT 2.x will bring: switch from case-based to person-based, increased operability and possibility of combining projects (i.e. 1 case per person as opposed to 2 cases per the same person under two different projects).
- A KM0 proposal, enabling counsellors to begin working with individual migrants even before a concrete return option is in place.
- Presentation of a draft version of the RIAT Terms and Conditions outlining the rules and responsibilities of all users for operating in RIAT, as well as the User Charter, which defines the standards to which every individual RIAT user has to comply and that will become a prerequisite for accessing the platform.
- Demonstration of Power BI reporting integrated into RIAT for use by Member State Coordinators and the PMOs.
